Jockey Club Stakes Betting

The flat season is beginning to get into full swing now and the Jockey Club Stakes in April is an exciting race in the British horse racing calendar. Held at the famous Newmarket Racecourse it is a fantastic betting opportunity with plenty of value to be found in the odds.

Like the Sandown Mile which is also run during April, It is a Group Two race and is open to thoroughbred horses aged four years old and over. It is run over the course at Newmarket and the 1 mile and 4 furlong race takes in the famous Rowey Mile.

It is an historic race as it was first run in 1894 and the most successful jockey in the race is Lester Piggott, who won the jockey club stakes seven times. Piggott was regarded as the best flat jockey of all time and his CV boasts a vast array of prestigious flat race wins, including the Derby, 2000 Guineas and 1000 Guineas.

When considering your bet it is worth noting that no horse has won the Jockey Club Stakes since Phardante in 1987 and when considering the odds it might be worth looking for a new winner in the latest betting.....

2000 Guineas
