Home / Horse Racing / Hattons Grace Hurdle
The Hatton's Grace Hurdle is a Grade 1 national hunt hurdle race for horses aged four years old and over. The race has a prize purse of £85,000 and is run at Fairyhouse in Ireland usually on the same day as the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle and Drinmore Novice Chase. The race itself is held in late November or early December and it is 2 miles 4 furlongs in distance with 11 hurdles in total.
The 'Hatton's Grace' name comes from the name of the three time winner of the Champion Hurdle that was trained by Vincent O'Brien, and the race was established in 1994.
In the betting for the race it can pay off to check out the odds of previous winners as Solerina has proved in the past. The most successful horse to date is in fact Solerina who won the race consecutively in 2003, 2004, 2005 and Solerina's jockey Gary Hutchinson is also the most successsful jockey with those three wins. While Solerina's trainer James Bowe has a great record with six wins in total including the Solerina hat trick, so it is agood tip to keep an eye out for his horses in the betting.
