Betfair Super Saturday Chase Betting

The Betfair Super Saturday Chase, registered as the Game Spirit Chase, is held in February at Newbury each year and is an important date in the diary for all betting enthusiasts as it represents a trial for the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham Festival in March.

Master Minded is a two time winner of the Game Spirit Chase and indeed won consecutive Champion Chases in 2009 and 2010, before failing to justify ante-post favouritism in the 2010 betting as he lost out to Big Zeb, who was at odds of 10/1 before the race.

The success of Master Minded highlights the importance of the Game Spirit Chase for Cheltenham Festival, with the 2 mile 1 furlong often attracting a strong field. There are 13 fences during the race, which is open to 5 year olds and over, and the race itself is named after the Queen Mother's late successful horse Game Spirit.

In terms of ante-post betting it is worth looking out for Paul Nicholls trained horses as ever, with the legendary trainer having seven winners up to 2012. While jockey Ruby Walsh has also enjoyed success in recent years.
