The Future Champions Novice Hurdle is part of the Christmas Festival at Ireland's Leopardstown Racecourse during December. It is a Grade 1 National Hunt race for 4 year olds and over, and is seen as an important race to gauge form ahead of March's Cheltenham Festival.
It is worth taking a look at the ante-post favourites for this race and consider getting in an early bet for Cheltenham in March, or even just keep an eye on form of successful horses at the Future Champions Novice Hurdle. In fact 2008 winner Hurricane Fly went on to win the Punchestown Champion Hurdle, and will certainly be worth keeping an eye on in future Cheltenham betting as he looks very impressive indeed.
It is run over a distance of 2 miles and has been recognised as a Grade 1 race since 2004. In the betting, previous years have seen some great winners and it is always a good tip to look out for those trained by the top Irish trainers such as Noel Meade and Willie Mullins. While Edward O'Grady and Christy Roche are the most successful trainers in the race with four wins each.

The Supreme Novices Hurdle is the first race of the opening day of the prestigious Cheltenham Festival in March. It is for hurdlers aged 4 years and old and over, and requires horses to negotiate eight hurdles along the way.
Recent winners include the likes of Menorah and Go Native, and trainers Noel Meade and the top trainers always have entries competing in the betting for ante-post favouritism. The likes of Paul Nicholls, Noel Meade ad Philip Hobbs know what is required to win at Cheltenham and will no doubt be fielding some top horses this March.
It is always a hugely competitive race and should provide the punter with some great betting opportunities.....
