The Feltham Novices Chase is traditionally held at Kempton Park racecourse during the King George VI Chase meeting on Boxing Day each year. It is a Grade 1 National Hunt Chase for horses aged four years old and over, and is run over 3 miles with 18 fences to be jumped.
It is a race for novices and attracts some of the finest horses in the division, although success in the Feltham Novices Chase has rarely translated to success at the season's pinnacle of the Cheltenham Festival in March. So when placing your bet at Cheltenham Festival later in the season it's probably best to steer clear of the Feltham Novices Chase success stories.
In the betting, five of the previous ten winners have been aged six years old which might be worth considering when looking to place your ante-post bet.
