The Deloitte Novice Hurdle is a Grade 1 National Hunt race that takes place in February each year at the Leopardstown racecourse in Ireland. It is for novice hurdlers aged five years and over, and it is run over 2 miles and 2 furlongs with 9 hurdles to be jumped It is run at the same meeting as the Spring Juvenile Hurdle and the Dr P J Moriarty Novice Chase.
It is worth checking out the runners and odds in Ireland as many horses who race at Leopardstown could go onto feature at Cheltenham Festival in the betting for the Supreme Novices Hurdle or the Neptune Novices' Hurdle.
When looking at the odds it is worth noting that several winners of the Deloitte Novice Hurdle have gone on to achieve success at Cheltenham so it is well worth keeping an eye on winners' future form and ante-post betting. Previous winners of the Deloitte and at Cheltenham Festival include Brave Inca, Istabraq, Like-a-Butterfly and Danoli. Also when looking at the betting keep an eye out forsix year olds as they have enjoyed great success here and look out for the odds of Noel Meade's horses as it is traditionally a race his horses have done well in.

Winners of the Deloitte Hurdle in February have been known to go on to Cheltenham Festival in March to have a crack at the Supreme Novices Hurdle. Brave Inca won both in 2004 in fact and it is well worth keeping an eye on the odds of the Deloitte Runners for the Cheltenham Festival.
The Supreme Novices opens up Cheltenham Festival as it is the first event of the first day and it historically provokes the famous 'Cheltenham Roar' from punters and spectators.
It is a fantastic race to bet on and really gets the Cheltenham Festival into full swing........
