Cleeve Hurdle Betting

The Cleeve Hurdle is aNational Hunt horse race run at Cheltenham on Trials Day usually at the end of January. Trials Day is the last meeting at Cheltenham before the course hosts the Cheltenham Festival in March and is designed to give trainers the opportunity to run horses in races that are similar in distance to those at the Festival.

The Cleeve Hurdle is a Grade 2 contest run over three miles and seen as a trial for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Formally known as the Stayers' Hurdle, the World Hurdle has been dominated in recent years by the Paul Nicholls trained Big Buck's, who won the Cleeve Hurdle in 2009 before going on to win the first of his three consecutive World Hurdle titles.

The other horse to have won the Cleeve Hurdle and followed it up at the Festival since its first running in 1988 in the World Hurdle is Inglis Drever in 2008, although Grands Crus went close in 2011 finishing second in 2011.
