The Cheveley Park Stakes is a six furlong Group One race for two year old fillies, which is raced over the Rowley Mile on the second day of the Newmarket Cambridgeshire meeting in September. It was established in 1899 and gets its name from the Estate at Newmarket that was once owned by Harry McCalmont. It is one of the most prestigious two year old races on the calendar and many of its winners have gone on to classic glory in the 1000 Guineas. In recent years both Natagora (2007) and Special Duty (2009) went on to win 1000 Guineas. Punters should note that both of these fillies were trained in France.

The 1000 Guineas is the first classic of the season and will be the target for several who line up in the Cheveley Park Stakes. The 1000 Guineas is run over the Rowley Mile at Newmarket in early May and always attracts the very best fillies in Europe.
The winner of the 1000 Guineas in 2010 was the previous year's Cheveley Park Stakes winner Special Duty who went on to win the French equivalent two weeks later.
