The Cheltenham Festival is the pinnacle of the National Hunt season and takes place in mid March each year. In 2005 the festival was extended to four days of Horse Racing Betting which added a further 6 races to the programme. The Festival has become so popular tickets are sold out well in advance both in the UK and in Ireland, who every year travel over the Irish Sea in their thousands for what has become an annual pilgrimage. The Festival is held at the famous Prestbury Park racecourse on the edge of Cheltenham and has played host to some of National Hunts greatest ever Sports Betting moments. Down the years it has witnessed many great champions, such as Arkle, Mill House, Flyingbolt, Desert Orchid, Best Mate and now Kauto Star and stablemate Denman.

Other great races include the Champion Hurdle which takes place on the opening day, and the 2011 renewal saw Hurricane Fly hold off Peddlers Cross to claim victory by a length and a quarter.
Master Minded, winner of the Queen Mother Champion Chase in 2008 and 2009 was denied a hat trick in 2010 as Big Zeb claimed glory, and again lost out in 2011 as Sizing Europe romped home to win the 2011 renewal.
The Arkle Trophy Challenge is another of the main feature races, which brings together the top novice chasers and there is also the World Hurdle, which has Big Bucks as favourite to win the race for a third successive year.
