Champagne Stakes Betting

The Champagne Stakes is a Group 2 race run on the fourth day of the St Leger Meeting at Doncaster Racecourse. The race is run over seven furlongs and is for colts and geldings aged two. The race was established in 1823 and originally open to horses of either gender. The race was run over six furlongs for most of its history before being lengthened to seven furlongs in 1961 and was restricted to male horses only in 1988. The race is run on the same day as the St Leger and is often taking a look at the racecard and use it as a precursor to the Dewhurst Stakes later on in the year.

Previous winners of the race include Poet's Voice and Dubai Destination, with Godolphin having a very good record in the race.
