Challenge Stakes Betting

The Challenge Stakes is part of Newmarket's Cesarewitch meeting in October and it is one of the few remaining Group race betting opportunities as the British flat racing season draws towards its close.

The Group Two race takes place on the famous Rowley Mile and it is a seven furlong affair for thoroughbreds aged three years old and over.

It was originally a six furlong affair for two year olds but it changed to its current format in 1971 and it was promoted to Group Two status in 1987. Barry Hills is the leading current trainer in the race and it is always worth looking out for the latest odds of his entries as his record of five wins demands respect.

The meeting always attracts interest from punters as there are a host of betting opportunities on offer and bookmakers will no doubt be providing a host of free bet offers, betting markets and odds for the meeting.
