Superstar filly Enable to land more Group 1 glory with Yorkshire Oaks success
Thursday 24th August, 2017 - 3:35pm York - Yorkshire Oaks
British racing's hottest property will take centre stage at York on day two of the Ebor Festival on Thursday afternoon, as the multiple Group 1-winning filly Enable will line up in the Yorkshire Oaks, and John Gosden's superstar will no doubt be sent off a red-hot favourite for the feature race, as she attempts to rack up her fifth win in a row.
- Enable has won Investec Oaks, Irish Oaks & King George this season
- The last three renewals have been won by three-year-olds
- The biggest priced winner in last ten years is 8/1

Enable To Light Up Knavesmire
Stunning in the Investec Oaks at Epsom Downs, a different class in the Irish Oaks, but it was the manner in which Enable scorched to victory in the King George at Ascot that propelled her to the top of the pile of horses in training in this country, and she will head into the Yorkshire Oaks as a red-hot 1/3 favourite with Sky Bet, as she looks to record her fourth Group 1 success in a row.
A five-length winner at Epsom at the start of June, she then followed that up with more Classic success at the Curragh, but it was her performance in the King George that saw everyone stand up in appreciation, as in shocking conditions she obliterated Eclipse hero Ulysses, and now returning to her own sex it's hard to not see her breezing to more top-class success.
She will be one of a trio of three-year-olds lining up on Thursday, and her form could be given a timely boost on Wednesday afternoon, as Ulysses lines up in the Juddmonte International, but while there could be a muddling gallop with only six going to post, Enable is the real class act of the field, and providing Frankie Dettori keeps his cool then she should breeze through the race, and her turn of foot should put the race to bed in a matter of strides.
Nezwaah & Queen's Trust Main Dangers
Roger Varian's Nezwaah could be the biggest danger to Enable, as the four-year-old takes her chance on the back of a fine win in the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh last month, but the 15/2 second favourite with Sky Bet bookmakers will have to give significant weight away to Enable, and could find it tough to maintain the pace with the jolly.
Sir Michael Stoute last won this race in 2004 with Quiff, but the master of Freemason Lodge will aim to return to the winner's enclosure on the Knavesmire with Queen's Trust, who has struggled in both the Prince Of Wales's Stakes and the Nassau Stakes this season, and just falls short in top notch Group 1 company, so at 9/1 with Sky Bet is easily ignored.
The Stoute team will also saddle Abingdon, who is a 25/1 outsider with Paddy Power, but she was beaten in a Group 2 at Deauville last time out, so is going to find this too hot to handle, while Coronet (18/1 with Sky Bet) will be the second shot fired by the Gosden gun, but she was beaten eight-and-three-quarter lengths by her stablemate Enable in the Irish Oaks, so will have to play second fiddle again.
Aidan O'Brien has won two of the last three renewals, but he may struggle to land more glory as his sole runner is Alluringly, who was a Listed winner last time out at Gowran Park, but the 25/1 chance with Betfred was over 12 lengths behind Enable in the Irish Oaks, and the latter can frank the form again, and storm to victory.
