Suedois tipped to bag Diamond Jubilee Stakes victory at Royal Ascot
Saturday 24th June - 4:20pm Royal Ascot - Diamond Jubilee Stakes
Henry Candy tasted victory in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes last season with Twilight Son, and he will look to retain the coveted Group 1 crown on the final day of Royal Ascot with Limato, who is currently heading the betting for the 6f showpiece, which will see a flurry of top-class sprinters line up in Saturday's feature race.
- Henry Candy trained winner last year (saddles Limato)
- Tasleet impressed last time out with Duke Of York Stakes win
- Limato is a multiple Group 1 winner

He may have disappointed last time out in Meydan, but Limato has shown throughout his career that he is a real quality Group 1 performer, as he stormed to victory in the July Cup at Newmarket last season, and also added the Prix de la Foret to his illustrious roll of honour, so if he brings his A game to the Royal meeting then he has to be the one to beat 3/1 with bet365.
Second in the Commonwealth Cup in 2015, this five-year-old has decent form at the Berkshire venue, but this will be a red-hot renewal, and his price is a little skinny with so much quality in the field, so while he has to be in with a major chance it's wise to look elsewhere for a selection.
James Fanshawe's The Tin Man could only finish fifth in the Duke Of York Stakes last time out, but he is better than that, and showed his class when winning the British Champions Sprint Stakes last season, but the 13/2 shot with Sky Bet only beat one home in this race last season, so can be ignored.
Magical Memory (7/1 with Betfred) is another that blows hot and cold, and if he can repeat his Duke Of York win from last year has to be a player, but he was on fourth in this last season, so maybe running for place money again, while Tasleet (9/1 with Coral) makes most appeal at the top of the market, as he was a fine winner of the Duke Of York Stakes last time out, and is open to huge improvement here, and has to make the shortlist.
Suedois The Selection
David O'Meara's Suedois was second to Limato in the 2016 July Cup, so if he can bounce back to that sort of form then is a huge each-way contender at 20/1 with Betfred, but he will need to bounce back from a couple of disappointing efforts this season, where he struggled in the soft underfoot conditions.
A return to much quicker ground on the final day of Royal Ascot is sure to play to his strengths, while O'Meara has reached for the visor in this race, so if he is to bounce back to form then it could be at the weekend, and at 20/1 he is an excellent each-way player in what is a race jam-packed with quality.
Best Of The Rest
Dean Ivory's Librisa Breeze was a flourishing handicapper last season, and has some top form at Ascot, but the 12/1 chance with Betfair Sportsbook has failed to show he has the quality for Group 1 company, and is best watched here, while French raider The Right Man (14/1) is an intriguing runner, and impressed when winning a Group 1 in Meydan, so it could be worth seeing if there's any significant market moves with that challenger.
Andrew Balding's Dancing Star (20/1) was a fine winner of the Stewards' Cup earlier in her career, but she is another that may just find Group 1 company a little too hot, while Growl and Kachy, both 25/1, are another pair that may lack that bit of quality in what is a devliishly difficult betting conundrum.
