Yaa Way the Michael Jarvis trained three year old continues to attract support ahead of the Victoria Racing Club International Stakes at Ascot this coming Saturday. Last seen winning a Conditions race at Newbury at the beginning of the month, this son of Whipper, has been working superbly well at home and will come into the race with plenty of stable confidence behind him. His latest price of 7/1 available from VC Bet we reckon is fair value but should be snapped up now rather than later.
With the news that our previous fancy for the race, Treadwell, is a likely non-runner, preferring to opt for the Totesport Mile next week at Glorious Goodwood, the way seems set clear for Yaa Way, although there are some very obvious dangers in what looks to be a very competitive field. Himalaya, trained by Jeremy Noseda is a very obvious danger, but with only one career win in two years of trying, he is likely to find one too good for him again here. Nonetheless there is plenty of each way value about him with odds of 12/1 also from Victor Chandler.
Prescription, trained by Sir Mark Prescott is another who is hard to ignore, particularly after her Nottingham win in May and her good third last time out at Naas. We all know how Sir Mark loves to run his horses quickly after a defeat and this could be a prime example of him getting the better of the handicapper again; Prescription is currently a 10/1 shot to win the race.

William Haggas has an interesting entry in Tagseed, winner of his last three starts. He will be stepping up in class for this race but he has answered every question put to him so far as a 4 year old and is being backed antepost, where he is currently at 7/1 with victor chandler
All in all a good race in prospect, with plenty in with chances, we will ‘stick by our guns’ and go with Yaa Way to win, but we also have a sneaking regard for the Walter Swinburn trained Crown Choice, who spread a plate last time out but still managed 4th place in the 32Red Trophy at Newmarket a fortnight ago. At 12/1 with Victor Chandler.com he is another one to consider.
