Winter to storm to Coronation Stakes glory at Royal Ascot
Friday 23rd June - 4:20pm Royal Ascot - Coronation Stakes
Aidan O'Brien's Winter is arguably the best three-year-old in training this season, and the dual 1000 Guineas heroine will aim to land more Group 1 success on Friday at Royal Ascot, by storming to victory in the Coronation Stakes, and with only six rivals taking her on in the day's showpiece event then it's hard to see her not enhancing her reputation even further.
- Winter won English & Irish 1000 Guineas
- Precieuse won French 1000 Guineas last time out
- Dabyah aims to build on Fred Darling win

Wonderful Winter To Breeze To Victory
Having been beaten on her first start of the season in Leopardstown's 1000 Guineas trial, Winter has gone from strength to strength, and she propelled into the limelight at Newmarket on her next run by downing stablemate Rhododendron in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, and she then followed up that success with an even more authoritative success in the Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh.
She eased four-and-three-quarter lengths clear of her stablemate Roly Poly in that Classic, so it's no surprise to see her installed as a red-hot favourite for this prize, and for those who like getting stuck into an odds-on shot then the 4/7 with Paddy Power is a tremendous opportunity in this race devoid of significant strength in depth.
Ryan Moore is sure to adopt similar waiting tactics once again on this daughter of Galileo, and with the O'Brien team having three of the seven runners in the race then there should not be any issues with a slow pace, and Winter can then pull out from the leaders' slipstream and breeze clear to add another notable success to her impressive CV.
Dabyah The Main Danger
John Gosden last won this race in 2012 with Fallen For You, and he will unleash the potentially progressive Dabyah, who was last seen easing to victory in the Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury, and the daughter of Sepoy is the nearest rival to Winter in the betting, and is available at 11/2 with bet365.
She could be another pace angle in this race, as she led all the way in the Fred Darling, but if she is prominent she may just set the race up for the stalking Winter, who can outclass her in the closing stages, and while Dabyah is the most likely runner-up to the Ballydoyle hotpot, it's hard to see her downing her top-class rival at this stage of her career.
Precieuse Best Of The Rest
The French have had a tremendous Royal Ascot so far, and they will hope Precieuse can add another win to their record this week, and she was last seen causing a shock when winning the French 1000 Guineas at 18/1, but while she is an intriguing rival at 12/1 with BetVictor she is a little skinny.
Of the others, both Hydrangea (16/1) and Roly Poly (20/1) will add strength to O'Brien's charge in this race, but they are certainly going to struggle to down their stablemate at the head of the market, while Tomyris will have to improve massively from a York Listed win, and at 16/1 with Betfred will find this too tough in a race that can go the way of the jolly.
