The Group 1 action continues to come thick and fast on the first day of Royal Ascot with the sprinters taking centre stage in the King's Stand Stakes. The King's Stand is a 5f contest for horses aged three and up, and it is one of the most exciting races of the week with speed the order of the day.

Two Way Race For Favouritism
We have two clear market leaders for the King's Stand this week with Lady Aurelia and Marsha all the rage with punters over the last few weeks.
Lady Aurelia made a massive splash last year at the Royal Meeting with her Queen Mary win one of the highlights of the entire week. She destroyed a good field that day and American trainer Wesley Ward has been aiming her at a return to Berkshire ever since that devastating performance in 2016.
Frankie Dettori will be back on board her and so far she has tasted defeat on just one of her five starts on the race course. She won her prep run at Keeneland in good fashion and and connections have plumped for the 5f race in the wake of that performance. 2008 was the last time we saw a 3YO winner of this race but she is a potential monster and a such, is a 3/1 shot with Paddy Power.
Like Lady Aurelia, Marsha (4/1) is a filly and she has looked very good in prep for this race with her win at Newmarket in the Palace House Stakes a taking one on the eye. Despite giving weight away all round that day, the Sir Mark Prescott trained 4YO looked to have improved from her Abbaye win, and she deserves to be fighting for favouritism.
Could Goldream Sneak Onto The Podium?
The front two are rightly at the head of the market but there is space for each way punters to get involved, with the rest if the field pretty wide open.
French raider Signs Of Blessing (6/1) scorched to victory on very soft ground in Group 3 company at Deauville last time out, and it was hard not to be impressed by his display that day. The quick ground is a slight unknown which would be a worry but he is clearly still improving and will take the eye of plenty of punters as a result.
Muthmir (16/1) was spanked by Marsha at Newmarket two runs ago which would be a major worry but he did bounce back to win last time out for William Haggas, whilst Profitable (16/1) was behind Signs Of Blessing at Deauville and is rock solid but will need more to win here.
Horses tend to come back to this race and perform well and one that we expect to fall into that category is Goldream. The 2015 winner is eight now but he will get his conditions underfoot once again this week, and that is absolutely key for the Robert Cowell trained sprinter.
He has been behind Marsha and Priceless on his two starts this term but he has run well on both occasions and back to a course and distance he loves, each way punters should be getting involved at 16/1 with Bet Victor.
