Magical Memory has stormed into the highest echelon of European sprinters this season and the Charlie Hills-trained four-year-old will aim to land another notable prize on the final day of Royal Ascot as he goes for glory in the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes on Saturday afternoon, but a plethora of eye-catching adversaries will line up in a thrilling renewal of the six-furlong feature.
- Undrafted won this race in 2015
- Magical Memory beat Twilight Son in Duke Of York Stakes last month

Memory Aims To Hand Dettori More Magical Times At Royal Meeting
A fine winner of the Stewards' Cup last season, Magical Memory ended the 2015 campaign with a fourth-placed finish in the Sprint Cup at Haydock Park, but he has gone from strength to strength over the last 12 months, and he has now been installed as the 10/3 favourite with Coral for this Diamond Jubilee, which is the highlight of Saturday's action.
Victory in the Group 3 Abernant Stakes at Newmarket propelled Hills' charge into the limelight as the next star sprinter, but it was his win in the Group 2 Duke Of York Stakes that really showed his class, and if he can continue on an upward curve then he has to be regarded as the one to beat here as Frankie Dettori aims to win this race for the second year in a row.
He won the aforementioned Abernant in good to soft ground, so the inclement weather over the last week at Ascot shouldn't hinder his chances, and having beaten Twilight Son in the Duke Of York then he will be hoping to frank that form with Henry Candy's stable star, who is currently the 9/2 second favourite with Betfred Bookmakers.
Twilight Son Can Turn Knavesmire Form Around
Twilight Son is another speedster that has launched into the limelight in the last couple of years and he was a winner of the aforementioned 2015 Sprint Cup, which saw Magical Memory finish fourth, so the son of Kyllachy will be aiming to emulate that fine display, and his second in the British Champions Sprint Stakes at the end of last year showed he is a class act.
He was always going to find it tough to down a race-fit Magical Memory in their Duke Of York clash, and he's certainly worth giving another chance in this event, as the ground should prove no problem to him here and with Ryan Moore taking up the ride then he could well offer a bit more value than the favourite at a track he acts on, as he showed when runner-up on British Champions Day.
Reigning Champion Undrafted Not To Be Overlooked, As Tin Man Catches Eye
Wesley Ward has already struck gold this week with Lady Aurelia, but he will be aiming for more glory in the shape of Undrafted, who was a stunning winner of this race 12 months ago, but his 10/1 price tag with Paddy Power suggests that he will struggle to figure prominently again, and the ground is sure to be an issue with that American raider, but some may be attracted to him from an each-way perspective.
James Fanshawe's The Tin Man was fourth behind Twilight Son in the Champions Sprint last year, but he kicked off his season with an eye-catching win in the Listed Leisure Stakes at Windsor, but on the bare form he doesn't deserve to be the same price as Twilight Son on what they have achieved on the track, so the 9/2 with Boylesports is a tad skinny.
Of the others, Gold-Fun (10/1) and Holler (12/1) are worthy of a mention, but they may not prove to be good enough at this level, whilst 20/1 shot Jungle Cat could outrun his huge odds as he looks to hand the Godolphin operation another Royal Ascot success in a race that could go the way of Twilight Son on Saturday afternoon.
