All eyes will be on Memory at the start of the Coronation Stakes as the Richard Hannon-trained contender will hopefully jump away and not stay stationary as she did in the 1000 Guineas. Despite Richard Hughes' urgings the Danehill Dancer filly planted herself in the stalls and refused to race.
Even with the obvious quirkiness of the three-year-old Paddy Power still have her as 6/1 second favourite for Friday's big race. All the rage before the Newmarket Classic Memory had shown some glorious form leading up to the race, but refusal to jump with her rivals has left a cloud hanging over her and she is surely one to bet in running to make sure a repeat of HQ's shenanigans doesn't materialise again.
Together must be one of the unluckiest runners in training as on two occasions the Ballydoyle-trained filly has been beaten late on in two Classics. Firstly, a late surge from Blue Bunting in the English 1000 left her with second prize and then three weeks later Misty For Me broke connections hearts again to nab her on the line. An obvious consistent filly, she goes into the race as 4/1 favourite with PaddyPower and she deserves better fortunes here. However, in a very strong field she could yet again find one too good and there's definitely much better value elsewhere.
Theyskens' Theory (6/1) was an impressive winner in a Listed contest at York last time out but this a huge step up in class and may lack the improvement of some her rivals in this tough renewal.
Joviality (8/1) is a lightly raced filly and she has shown a major improvement in all three of her career outings and she showed she is still on a steep incline when beating Barefoot Lady (16/1) in the Musidora Stakes. John Gosden's runner ground out the finish with Richard Fahey's Barefoot Lady and Joviality just held her off and these two contenders must have a great chance in this mile contest. At the prices, Barefoot Lady offers much better each-way value and has shown her consistency this year, whilst Joviality will surely improve for that Musidora win and is definitely the one to beat.
Of the others, Maqaasid (7/1) won the Queen Mary last year, but has failed to land a blow this season and although ran creditably to finish third in the English 1000 Guineas, marks very little value here. More than Real (9/1) is an interesting contender from the States but this is her first outing and she will improve for the run, whilst the two French raiders of Nova Hawk (10/1) and Immortal Verse (11/1) could run into a place.
In a cracking contest it could be a race for an improver and Joviality definitely showed encouraging signs in the Musidora and she can improve again to just get the better of the tough Barefoot Lady for the second time in a row.

6/1 Theyskens' Theory
