2011 Queen Mother Champion Chase Entries: Master Minded heads betting for 21 entered

Master Minded heads the betting for the 2011 Queen Mother Champion Chase following Thursday's entries for the race at the Cheltenham Festival. The two time champion two mile chaser has returned to form this season with bloodless wins in the Tingle Creek and Amlin 1965 Chase and bookmaker Boylesports make him their 7/4 favourite in the betting ahead of last year's winner Big Zeb.

Paul Nicholls saddles three other horses with entries, including the 9/1 shot Woolcombe Folly who leapt to prominence in the betting for the Champion Chase following two emphatic wins in handicap company this season. Tataniano is another with claims for Nicholls who won the Grade 1 Maghull Novices' Chase at Aintree last April and was third behind the highly regarded Gauvain on his seasonal reappearance back in November. Tchico Polos makes up the Nicholls' trained quartet, who scored in the Haldon Gold Cup at the beginning of the season.

Ireland's hopes are headed by last season's Champion two miler Big Zeb. The talented ten year old has ironed out problems with his jumping and is now four unbeaten, including two this season over in Ireland. Captain Cee Bee and Sizing Europe have both been entered and can both be backed at odds of 7/1 ante-post with Boyle Sports. Last year's Arkle Trophy winner Sizing Europe has been aimed at longer distances this term and also has an entry in the Gold Cup. Captain Cee Bee on the other hand is far more likely to feature in this race but has struggled to refind the form that saw him land the 2008 Supreme Novices' Hurdle.

Also from Ireland, Golden Silver trained by Willie Mullins is a 10/1 chance. The nine year old is a top class chaser but seems to reserve his best form for Ireland having failed to place on his previous two visits to Cheltenham. Forpadydeplasterer is a 12/1 shot with Boyles but since scoring at Cheltenham in the 2009 Arkle Chase, the now nine year old has gone on to record seven straight runners up finished. He also has entries in the Ryanair Chase and Gold Cup.

Second season chaser Somersby was a runner up in last season's Arkle and can be backed at 16/1 for the Queen Mother. A fine jumper last year, Henrietta Knight's seven year old has struggled a bit this season and it is thought that he may go for the extra half a mile in the Ryanair Chase.
