Ryan Moore's affiliation with Aidan O'Brien in recent months has been a fruitful one and it is no surprise that the former champion jockey is a clear 4/7 favourite with Boylesports to be the top jockey over Royal Ascot. Not only will the 27-year-old be teaming up with the Ballydoyle master he will also continue his connection with some of the elite from Sir Michael Stoute's stable throughout the week.
With so much ammunition for the multiple Group One winning jockey at his disposal he will be an almighty contender for the top jockey crown come Saturday evening. Notable rides for Moore will include Australian import So You Think for O'Brien in the Prince of Wales's Stakes, Oracle in the Jersey Stakes and Kingsgate Native in the King's Stand. Twin that with a plethora of top rides throughout the five days, Moore certainly has to be the one to beat.
However, if the main protagonists misfire then an array of jockeys will be hot on his heels and none more so than Richard Hughes, who is 8/1. Hughes' partnership with Richard Hannon has been glorious in recent years and the pair send some eye-catching contenders to the Royal meeting, including Canford Cliffs and an array of smart youngsters. Hughes could quite easily be terrific each way value, especially if Canford Cliffs can get him off the mark in the Queen Anne on Tuesday.
Fresh from the Derby debacle Kieren Fallon is 7/1 with Boylesports and the former champion jockey will be another picking up a whole host of top rides, but may lack the strength in depth to land a blow.
Frankel is the one everyone will want to see and his pilot Tom Queally will be teaming up with the recently knighted Sir Henry Cecil throughout the week. At 14/1 with Boylesports.com, Queally could be another contender who bags a couple of wins during the week and can put some pressure on Moore.
One eye-catching outsider who could quite easily make it into the shake-up is Jamie Spencer, who at 14/1 is over-priced. Already down to ride Fame and Glory in the Ascot Gold Cup, Spencer could be another used by O'Brien and his Ballydoyle team and he could be a lively contender for the crown.
Of the others, Johnny Murtagh (12/1) is bound to partner some classy horses throughout the week and so will teen sensation Mikael Barzalona, but he is too short at 8/1. Paul Hanagan's partnership with Richard Fahey blossoms continually and the Yorkshire-based pair could have a decent week and Hanagan is too big at 33/1.
4/7 Ryan Moore
7/1 Kieren Fallon
8/1 Richard Hughes
8/1 Mikael Barzalona
12/1 Johnny Murtagh
14/1 Tom Queally
14/1 Jamie Spencer
25/1 Bar
