Ryan Moore And Richard Hughes Fighting For Favouritism In Royal Ascot Top Jockey Odds

Royal Ascot is one of the highlights of the Sporting calendar in the UK and with the Royal Meeting almost upon us the betting turns to who will be named top jockey at the end of the week. It is always a lively betting heat at Royal Ascot and this years odds are telling us that any number of Jockeys could put themselves into position to claim the title. The man who is favourite though is Ryan Moore who after his Classic double in the Oaks and Derby at Epsom heads to Ascot as the one to beat. The partnership of Hughes and Canford Cliffs won at Royal Ascot last year and they both look in electric form once again to repeat the trick, that is just one potential ride for Hughes who works for some of the best trainers around making him good value.

There are a number of other jockeys in behind Moore and Hughes in the betting here with Frankie Dettori, Johnny Murtagh and Kieren Fallon all with a chance of lifting the trophy with a bit of luck their way. Murtagh will of course be the main man for the Aiden O'Brien yard who once again are bringing over a strong contingent of runners for the Royal Meeting, one of those will be Steinbeck who will be up against Canford Cliffs in the St James Palace Stakes on Tuesday.

Murtagh should never be ruled out in a market such as this with Ballydoyle behind him and that is reflected in his odds of 4/1 to take the Jockeys crown with Paddy Power. However, we find it hard to look past Ryan Moore here as the Champion Jockey has a strong book of rides and comes to Ascot full of confidence.
