Newmarket 1000 and 2000 Guineas Betting

The Newmarket Guineas meeting which takes place in May has already captured the imagination of serious punters who enjoy their Sports Betting. With regard to the 2000 Guineas, they have been very keen to support the claims of the Aidan O’Brien trained St Nicholas Abbey who has been backed into 7/2 clear favouritism with most Bookmakers, with the next bet in the market being the unbeaten, Brian Meehan trained, Arcano. There will be several fillies in this race who will go to Epsom the following month to challenge for the Epsom Oaks, the fillies equivalent of the Derby.

Both races are run over the famous Rowley Mile at Newmarket, which is a straight but testing mile. Those who win the Guineas have usually been well ridden by jockeys who can judge the pace of the race the best and who are strong in the final furlong.

Famous winners of the 2000 Guineas include Nijinsky, Brigadier Gerard, Dancing Brave and Nashwan, while legendary names such as Miesque, Pebbles, Salsabil and Russsian Rhythm adorn the Roll of Honour for the 1000 Guineas.

There is a great supporting card on both days, including the Group 2 Jockey Club Stakes for older horses over a mile and a half and the Group 3 Palace House Stakes for sprinters. All of which are excellent clues for future big horse race days such as Epsom Derby Betting and Royal Ascot later in the season.
