May Hill Stakes Odds: Fallen For You and Regal Realm battle out favourtism

Eight runners are entered into Friday's Group 2 May Hill Stakes at Doncaster on day three of the St Leger meeting. Run over one mile, this two year old fillies race was won last year by the Godlophin trained White Moonstone. The stable enter Lyric Of Light in this year's race, albeit trained by Mahmood Al Zarooni. There's not a huge depth of form to go on for this race, but it is the John Gosden trained Fallen For You at odds of 13/8 with Bookmaker Bet365.

The market leader has only been seen on the course once, winning a fillies' maiden stakes at Newmarket at the end of July. She looked impressive that day overcoming what was a slow start and her own inexperience to win going away by two lengths. The market support would suggest she's the one to beat here.

The Jeremy Noseda trained Regal Realm has won two of her three starts as a two year old. First in a Newmarket maiden in May, she followed that up with a decent second in The Group 3 Juddmonte Stakes at Ascot in July. Since then, she was a winning favourite in a Group 3 at Goodwood two weeks ago and deserves her chance here. Bet365 make her their 9/4 second favourite and she could have more to come now she's been upped to one mile.

Third favourite Samitar has also had three runs this season, third in behind Regal Realm at Newmarket in May and a winner at Royal Ascot in the Group 3 Albany Stakes. A beaten favourite last time out at Newmarket but deserves her place near the top of the betting at odds of 5/1. This is a step up in trip for the filly so worth considering when placing your bet.

Further down the betting is the aforementioned Lyric Of Light for Godolphin. The 8/1 shot with Bet 365 won on her only appearance in a division two maiden and Frankie Dettori takes the ride. The yard have plenty of talent in this division and with Frankie onboard she's sure to attract plenty of support in the betting.

The Switcher is a 12/1 chance who finished fourth in behind Samitar in the Albany Stakes. Third last time out in a Group 3 at Deauville, connections claim she'll only run if there's suitable rain.

There's a break in the betting with Na Zdorovie and Semayyel both priced up at 20/1. Charles Hills trains Na Zdorovie who won last time out at a maiden stakest at Chester whils Semayyel was also a winner last time out, scoring in a division one maiden at Newmarket last month for trainer Clive Brittain.

Last in the betting is the Peter Chapple-Hyam trained Everlong at 40/1. The step up in trip should suit but as the odds suggest, she'll be doing well to make the frame here.
