The Cheltenham Gold Cup antepost latest betting news is that the money keeps piling on the two market leaders and stablemates, Kauto Star and Denman. By our reckoning they are as far clear in the betting field as they will be in the race itself with Kauto the narrow favourite with odds of 6/4 with Ladbrokes.

Disputing third place in the betting is the Nigel Twiston-Davies trained, Imperial Commander, who ran Kauto Star to a short head in the Betfair Chase in November, but who was then thrashed by him in the King George a few weeks later. Imperial Commander however is a Cheltenham Festival winner, he won the Ryanair Chase last season in great style and he could prove a bit of a handful if he has come out of the King George in good nick. Cooldine trained by Willie Mullins looks to be the biggest threat from Ireland, but judging him on his form in the Lexus Chase behind What A Friend, we think he has to prove enormously even to claim a place. He is a best price also of 20/1 but with bet365.
