The WGC HSBC Champions is part of the yearly World Golf Championships - which is a group of events that are sanctioned by the European Tour, PGA Tour, Asian Tour, Sunshine Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia.
Other WGC events include:
WGC Accenture Matchplay | WGC Cadillac | WGC Bridgestone Invitational
The WGC HSBC Champions tends to be a popular event for the top players from around the globe and in turn it makes for an extremely competitive betting head for punters. It takes place each year at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China, in November.
The field consists of winners of Official World Golf Ranking events and players ranked in the top 25 in the world, with a maximum of 78 players entering.
It is a lucrative tournament for players as it carries a $7m prize purse, while the winner receives an invitation to the following season's Hyundai Tournament of Champions - the season opening event of the PGA Tour which invites only tournament winners from the previous season.
When considering the ante-post odds and betting options it is always worth a look at past winners and Phil Mickelson has good pedigree here after winning twice before, while Sergio Garcia and Francesco Molinari are also previous champions.

The winner of the WGC HSBC Champions automatically receives an invite for the following season's Hyundai Tournament of Champions - the event which opens the PGA Tour season.
It is only for players who have won a tournament during the previous season, which normally ensures there is a high calibre of player taking part and there is plenty of interest in the odds for the tournament.
It is not just the big names that have won the event though as plenty of players have upset the odds in the past, not least Jonathan Byrd in 2011.....
