The WGC-Cadillac Championship is the second of the year's World Golf Championship events where the world's top golfers from all of the tours come together and fight it out for huge prize-money. In 2011, the tournament was played at the Blue Monster golf course at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami, Florida for the fifth consecutive year.
The field is made up around seventy of the top golfers from around the world and becuase of this there is no usual cut half-way through the tournament. The event is stroke-play, opposed to the first World Golf Championship of the year the WGC-Accenture Matchplay.

The event is co-sactioned regarding prise money so the rankings for respective players in the PGA Tour and Race To Dubai will count towards their Ryder Cup points.

Nick Watney improved on his 2009 runner up spot at the Doral Golf Resort as he held off the challenge of Dustin Johnson to claim victory. Johnson had been the overnight leader heading into the final day but Watney hit a final round 67 to beat Johnson by two shots, with Anders Hansen and Francesco Molinari a further shot back.
