Travelers Championship Betting

The Travelers Championship is one of the most popular events for golf betting in the PGA Tour calendar thanks to it being the second most attended event on the tour - behind only the Phoenix Open.

It takes place each year during June nowadays, normally just after the prestigious US Open. Due to the fact it follows on from the second major of the season some of the top players opt to take a rest but it can still boast a stellar list of winners over the years and some who have upset the betting.

Phil Mickelson, Stewart Cink and Bubba Watson are just a few of the top names from the PGA Tour who have won the tournament from short priced odds in the past and they could be worth following if they are in attendance this year.

It takes place at the TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, and it is well worth noting when considering the ante-post odds that longer hitters tend to prosper on the course. Huntar Mahan is a case in point as he is a past winner and two time runner up in the Travelers Championship and he is well worth looking out for in the betting.

While players from the USA have dominated the top of the leaderboard in recent years, with the last winner from outside America coming in the form of Australian Greg Norman back in 1995.

Travelers Championship 2011 Result

Fredrik Jacobson won his first ever PGA Tour title as he beat Ryan Moore and John Rollins by a shot in Connecticut. It is the Swede's first event win since he won on the European Tour back in 2003.
