The Heritage Betting

The Heritage, or Heritage Classic as it was known, is a PGA Tour event that takes place on the Harbour Town Golf Links at Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. It is a great opportunity for the punter to get involved in golf betting as recent winners have included some 'middling' PGA tour players, rather than the stellar names, that have started the tournament at great value in the ante-post odds.

The course was co-designed by the great Jack Nicklaus and the event takes place each April after the US Masters and carries a prize fund of $5.7 million.

The tournament makes for an attractive betting event as it is one of the few PGA Tour events that are invitational which means that it involves a reduced field of 132. In the past several American players have claimed glory and it often pays to take a look at the odds of the consistent pros on the tour, with the likes of Jim Furyk, Brian Gay, Boo Weekley, and Stewart Cink winning in recent years.

The 2010 event saw a surprise finish as the unfancied Brian Davis called a penalty on himself in a play off with Jim Furyk, which handed Furyk the win and denied Davies a first ever PGA Tour win.

Carl Pettersson secured a comfortable win at the RBC Heritage as he won by five shots from Zach Johnson after notching a final round 69.
