The FedEx St Jude Classic has grown in popularity over the years and it now takes place each year during early June at the TPC in Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee. It has become a popular golf betting spectacle on the PGA Tour, although the fact it often falls just before the US Open means it sometimes struggles to attract the top names.
That has changed in recent years though as Lee Westwood claimed the title after beating Robert Karlsson in a play-off in 2010 and they are both worth looking out for in the odds for an outright winner or even in the betting to be top European.
It was a rare success for the Europeans as players from the USA have dominated the FedEx St Jude Classic and that is well worth noting when considering your ante-post bet.
David Toms and Justin Leonard have each won the title twice and they are likely to offer great value odds, while Brian Gay, winner in 2009, is proving himself to be a consistent performer on the PGA Tour.
And while the US Open will be the pinnacle for many of the top players, the $5.6 million prize purse on offer in Memphis ensures the top players will always consider a crack at the St Jude Classic.
