Vivendi Seve Trophy Betting

The Seve Trophy is a biennial event on the European Tour, with a difference. Established in 2000, the Seve Trophy was formed to compete with the Presidents Cup in America in giving European golfers the chance to experience some competitive match play in the years there isn't a Ryder Cup. Two teams of ten players battle it out over four days, between Great Britain and Ireland versus a team from continental Europe. The tournament was named after Seve Ballesteros who captained the Europe side four times. Colin Montgomerie also captained the Great Britain and Ireland side four times.

The event is growing in popularity and it is becoming an integral part of the golf season. The teams play out a ryder cup style tournament, with pairings and singles matches making up the points, with the team with the most points winning.

Each team is selected by taking the leading five eligible players in the official golf rankings and the leading five players on the Race to Dubai, if not already selected in the OWGR criterion.

GB and Ireland have certainly had the upper hand to date, winning five of the six Seve Trophies to date and winning the last five straight.
