The Qatar Masters is part of the European Tour and takes place in February at the Doha Golf Club in Qatar. The tournament boasts a prize fund of $2.5 million and was first established in 1998.
The playing field was never particularly strong during the early years as Ernie Els strolled through to win as the only top 50 player in the world to take part in 2005. But nowadays it boasts a strong field from the European Tour and offers 48 world ranking points for the winner, which means there is plenty of opportunities for the punter to get involved in golf betting.
It was co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour between 2005 and 2007 but is now purely a European Tour event and previous winners include big names such as former US Open and British Open champion Els, Retief Goosen and Adam Scott.
