Joburg Open Betting

The Joburg Open is part of both the South African Sunshine Tour and the European Tour, and takes place in January each year at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club in South Africa.

The South African contingent are always worth keeping an eye out for in the betting, and more often that not one of them will be odds on favourite to do the business on home soil. Not least Charl Schwartzel in 2010 who seems to enjoy playing in his home land and often provides great value for the punter. The season really starts to get into full swing in Johannesburg with the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship on the horizon in January.

The event was first held in 2007 and since being co-sanctioned by the European Tour it boasts a very competitive field each year and a prize purse of 1.3million(Euros).

The Abu Dhabi Golf Championship in the cash rich United Arab Emirates is part of the European Tour and boasts a prize purse of $2.7 million.
