Home / Golf / Chevron World Challenge
The Chevron World Challenge is an off-season event that is held each year during December at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California. Despite not being officially recognised as a PGA Tour event, it is recognised as an unofficial money event on the tour and provides official world golf ranking points.
As such, it proves hugely popular with the top names on the tour and it provides a rare betting opportunity on golf in America as the season winds down before getting going again in January.
The tournament is hosted by Tiger Woods and the $5m prize fund ensures there are always plenty of household names near the head of the ante-post betting. Woods himself has been prolific at the Jack Nicklaus-designed course, winning in 2001, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2011, and he is well worth looking out for in the odds.
The field is limited to just 18 players, with the four major winners (US Open, US Masters, British Open, PGA Championship), the top eleven available players from the official world golf rankings, the defending champion and two exemption players.
It ensures there is quite a mix of players on show and with such a small field it makes it easier for the punter to check out the form of potential winners!

Result:
1. Tiger Woods (USA) - 278 (-10)
2. Zach Johnson (USA) - 279 (-9)
3. Paul Casey (England) - 283 (-5)
