BMW Championship Betting

The BMW Championship is the third leg of the FedEx Cup play-offs on the PGA Tour, first introduced in 2007. Following the Barclays and Deustsche Bank Championship, the field has been whittled down to the top seventy players on the PGA Tour. With $1.3 million on offer to the winner, this is a hugely valuable tournament for the golfers, with the top thirty players after this event then going on to the Tour Championship which is the season finale.

The BMW Championship is held at the Cog Hill Golf and Country Club in Lemont Illinois and has been held here for three of the four tournaments to date. The 2008 event was held at the Bellerive Country Club in Missouri whilst the 2012 event is set to be held at the Medinah Country Club in Indiana.

The golfers are playing for two events in one at the BMW Championship, although a top five finish in this tournament should ensure a safe passage through to the Tour Championship. The betting is very competitive as you have the top seventy golfers of the season in action.

Past winners include Tiger Woods twice, Camilo Villegas and the 2010 winner Dustin Johnson who is one of the leading favourites going into the 2011 event.

BMW Championship 2011 Result

Justin Rose won by two shots to seal his place in the season-ending Tour Championship event. Rose claimed his third tour title but was forced to hang on and he held his nerve by birdeying the seventeenth.
