Ballantine's Championship Golf Betting

The Ballantine's Championship is a South Korean event which was held at the Pinx Golf Club on Jeju Island and now takes place at Blackstone Golf Club in Seoul. It is co-sanctioned by the European Tour, Asia Tour and the Korean PGA, and is a relatively new event as it was established in 2008.

In terms of betting, there could be a bit of value about in the ante-post odds with only US Masters winner Graeme McDowell a really top player to have claimed the title. Other winners include the Australian Marcus Fraser and Thongchai Jaidee from Thailand, who both won after starting the tournament at  fairly long odds.

The big names are still to embrace this Asian event but it is surely only a matter of time before the top players from the Race To Dubai start competing and that could have an interesting effect on the betting.

Ballantine's Championship 2012 Result

Austrian Bernd Wiesberger claimed the 2012 Ballantine's Championship with a total of eighteen under par, beating the field comfortably by five shots. This was the Austrain's first win on tour and he did so in style leading for the final two rounds. Richie Ramasay of Scotland finished a clear second ahead of Victor Duboisson and Marcus Fraser.
