Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Betting

The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is one of the richest events on the European Tour as it involves a prize purse of $5m. It takes place each year in early October on three different links courses, centred around the home of golf - St Andrews in Scotland.

It is a pro-am tournament as teams consisting of a professional and an amateur complete a round each on the Old Course at St Andrews, as well as at Carnoustie and Kingsbarns. It makes for an interesting and rare betting opportunity for golf fans as it provides a slightly different set of odds compared to normal; with a market on the top amateur often one of the highlights.

The leading 60 professionals go on to play the final round at St Andrews, and they are joined by the leading 20 teams.

The event is not to be confused with the Alfred Dunhill Championship and in terms of a point of comparison of the format it bears similarities with PGA Tour's AT&T National Pro-Am.

The tournament replaced the Alfred Dunhill Cup in 2001 and has proven to be a hugely popular event with top players, celebrities and from a betting perspective with punters and fans alike.

The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is similar to the PGA Tour's AT&T National Pro-am as it is a pro-am event and a rare betting opportunity for punters. The AT&T is a hugely popular event on the tour and always attracts the top players.
