Tiger Woods is back in his customary position on top of the antepost betting market, this time the world number one, is favourite to win the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston, the second of four Fed Ex Play-off tournaments and which will be contested by the top 100 in the Fed Ex points table. Woods has been given odds of 8/1 by Paddy Power who make defending champion, Steve Stricker second favourite at 11/1 with Phil Mickelson and top European in the betting, Rory McIlroy next best at 16s.
Woods of course is the reigning Fed Ex champions, but after his well reported year of woe he has been struggling and will start in Boston in 65th position and knows he will need to be in the top 70 to qualify for the next round, which is the BMW Open and takes place a week later. Nonetheless his 12th place last week strongly suggested that he is finding a way back and could be good value even with those odds.
Deutsche Bank Odds Comparison and Free Bets.
There will be many golf punters who will be staking their money of world number 4, Steve Stricker who has an amazing Fed Ex Cup record, despite never having won it outright. In the 13 events so far played he has been in them all and has never failed to qualify for the next stage. In those 13 events he has won twice, been runner up once, third twice, as well as three other top ten finishes. When it comes to Fed Ex consistency there is no better bet than Stricker.
Matt Kuchar, winner of the Barclays last week after defeating Scotsman, Martin Laird in a play-off, is a player at the top of his game currently. 2010 has been a great year, which has seen him make the US Ryder Cup team and finish in the top ten of two Major’s, namely the US Open and US PGA. His win last week has taken him to the top of the Fed Ex points table and to number 10 in the world rankings; with odds of 25/1 with Paddy power he is one of the men in form and looks a sound each way betting prospect.
There are a number of players who have been ultra consistent this year so far and many of them have made the US Ryder Cup team. The big hitting Dustin Johnson is another who has been extremely consistent with six top 20 finishes in his last seven tournaments. He has also been a winner this year on tour and like Kuchar has made the US Ryder Cup team on merit. Johnson is at 18/1 to win this week and we think he has a big chance.

The European challenge this week should be led by Paul Casey (28/1) and Justin Rose (50/1), particularly so after their omissions from the European Ryder Cup team. That said, Martin Laird rose in prominence last week and although not particularly well known he is a force to be reckoned with and is great each way value bet at 100/1 with Paddy Power.com
