USA Pick Ryan Moore The One To Back In Ryder Cup Top Debutant Market

The Ryder Cup gets underway on Friday and the excitement is building over at Hazeltine with one of the biggest sporting events in the world just days away. As well as being a stunning sporting spectacle, few events can match the Ryder Cup for betting thrills with a whole plethora of markets to get involved with, including the Ryder Cup Top Debutant. There are a number of rookies on both sides this year but which of them will pick up the most points?

European Team Packed With Rookies

There is no doubt that Europe are the underdogs going into the matches this year with a whole host of rookies in their team with Danny Willett perhaps the most important of them. A rookie when it comes to the Ryder Cup, the Englishman won the Masters back in April and that experience means he has to produce this weekend if Europe are to retain the Cup once again.

Winning the Masters on American soil is great experience for Willett which means that many will be happy to back him to be the Top Rookie at 4/1 with Coral. It does have to be said though that his form since winning the Green Jacket has been patchy at best which would be a worry and others do stand out in this market.

Matthew Fitzpatrick (8/1) is another interesting contender here with the young man from England another one making his debut and like Willett, he should get plenty of playing time ahead of the singles. He had a stellar amateur career and is going to have a great career but has this Ryder Cup come a little soon for him?

Thomas Pieters has come from virtually nowhere over the past six months to make the team as a wildcard selection for Darren Clarke and there is a growing feeling that he could have a major impact over in Minnesota. The Belgian comes into this in hot form and full of confidence which is interesting and that means one or two could fancy him here at 9/1 with Coral to be the Top Rookie.

Moore Moore Moore The Man To Follow For the USA

The USA team are packed full of experience, unlike their European counterparts, and that means Davis Love III only has two rookies at his disposal this week and both are top class.

Brooks Koepka (5/1) qualified automatically some time ago thanks to another rock solid season and he is sure to get plenty of playing time this weekend, with his rock solid game perfectly suited to the four balls and foursomes format. He doesn't win too many tournaments but Koepka is a regular in the top 10 and his recent 4th place finish at the USPGA Championship saw him go close to lifting his first Major title.

Ryan Moore was the last minute final pick from Davis Love on Sunday night but it could be that he saved the best for last with this rookie. Moore is another one that doesn't get in the spotlight too often but he quietly goes about his business on the PGA Tour and looks ideally suited for a big week for Team USA.

Moore went toe-to-toe with Rory McIlroy in the Tour Championship before losing in a play-off so we know he is in good form at the moment and his match-play record is also very impressive, despite the fact this will be his first Ryder Cup. Moore has won an NCAA title, the US Amateur Public Links and the US Amateur title in the Match Play format whilst his 5th place finish in the WGC Match Play earlier this year was also an excellent display.

Ryan Moore may well have been a late pick for Davis Love but the feeling is that he is the perfect man for the Ryder Cup and with in mind he looks a big price at 6/1 with Coral to be the top debutant this week.
