Justin Rose Ranks As A Best Bet For The Farmers Insurance Open
The PGA Tour moves on to Torrey Pines in California for the Farmers Insurance Open this week and the quite frankly ridiculous form of Jon Rahm ensures he is the bookmakers' favourite to secure back-to-back titles...

Rahm On Fire
Rahm won this title twelve months ago and he has gone on to enjoy a quite sensational run of results, culminating in Sunday's win at the Career Builder Challenge. The Spaniard has now gone: Won-2nd-Won in his past three starts worldwide and he is an 8/1 favourite here.
It is difficult to make a case against Rahm and it will be fascinating to see how he copes with bidding to go back-to-back, both in terms of successive tournament wins and his title defence.
Rickie Fowler is next best at 12/1 and he has been in fine fettle, although his last four appearances at Torrey Pines have yielded finishes of MC-61-MC-MC.
We prefer the look of Justin Rose after he tied 4th here in 2017 and the Englishman is primed to build on his quite sensational end to last year. The 37-year-old finished the calendar year with ten straight top-tens, including three wins in six starts, and he blew away the cobwebs when tying for 22nd in his first start of 2018 in Abu Dhabi last week. Rose is our best bet here.
Tip #1: Justin Rose (each way) @ 14/1 with Paddy Power - 1/5 odds on 7 places.
The Best Of The Rest
Jason Day makes his first start of the year with a new caddie on his bag but his record at Torrey Pines, where players take on the North and South Courses during the first 36 holes before playing the weekend on the South Course, is indifferent - 9-2-1-MC-MC.
Tiger Woods knows all about this venue as he has won eight times at Torrey Pines, including the 2008 US Open, and the 14-time major winner is a 22/1 shot on his return to the PGA Tour.
Brandt Snedeker (50/1) is another multiple winner at Torrey Pines as he has won the Farmers Insurance Open twice (2012 and 2016), albeit he withdrew from the Indonesian Masters before missing the cut at the Career Builder Challenge in his past two starts.
We prefer to side with the ultra-consistent Tony Finau as his form in this tournament is progressive, with finishes of 24th, 18th and 4th in his last three appearances here. The 28-year-old is on a run of 18 cuts made and he ended 2017 in fine fashion, with his runner-up effort at the Safeway Open one of five top-20s in his past seven outings.
The 2016 Puerto Rico Open winner looks decent value at 35/1.
Tip #2: Tony Finau (each way) @ 35/1 with Boylesports - 1/5 odds on 7 places.
Finally, Kevin Streelman is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour and he has previous at Torrey Pines as he finished 3rd in 2016. The American has been a model of consistency without really contending of late as he has missed just one cut since May and he blew away the cobwebs with a top-30 effort at the Career Builder Challenge.
Streelman enjoys playing at Torrey Pines and he looks over-priced at triple-figure odds.
Tip #3: Kevin Streelman (each way) @ 100/1 with PaddyPower.com.
