Zurich Classic of New Orleans Golf Odds: Stricker and Poulter Start Favourites

World number 3, Steve Stricker, heads the market for this week’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans Golf Championship with odds of 12/1 offered by bet365. The American veteran is already a winner this year after taking the Northern Trust Open in February, but it has to be said that his very latest form looks a little uncertain ahead of this tournament. Stricker could only manage a tie for 30th at the US Masters and before that he was tied 52nd in the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

One player who has remained in form has been England’s Ian Poulter, whose consistency has seen him rise to number 6 in the World Golf rankings. He was the winner of the WGC-Matchplay earlier in the season and was in contention for much of the US Masters before settling for a tie in tenth place. He will be eager to get another ‘notch on his belt’ this season and looks a tempting bet with odds to win of 14/1 with Bet 365.

Although disappointing last week in the Verizon, KJ Choi has been in super form for most of the year without actually winning. Two second places and a fourth place in the US Masters a couple of weeks ago, are results that suggest he can go one better and with odds of 20/1 he is well worth considering.

Over the last few years this tournament has tended to won by the less fancied golfers in the market, last year it was Jerry Kelly who took the prize but he is ranked only 78 in the world currently and certainly has not shown enough form to back him for a back to back win.
