Ballentines Golf Championship Betting: Yang Can Win Back to Back

Ernie Els may be the 8/1 favourite in the betting with Paddy power and he may have won two big tournaments already this year but the Ballantines Golf Championship, which takes place in Jeju South Korea this week, will all be about the brilliant Korean golfer, Y E Yang. The 2009 US PGA Champion took a big step forward in the ‘Race to Dubai’ when winning the China Open last week by two strokes in Shanghai and now returns to his home town in great form to play in front of the adoring Korean public.

Yang has been made third favourite in the betting behind Els and American, Anthony Kim with odds of 11/1 from paddy power and we think he is an outstanding prospect to grab back to back wins for the first time in his career.

Els of course should never be ruled out, winner of the WGC- World Championships and the Arnold Palmer Invitational already this season, the ‘Big Easy’ has moved up to number 7 in the world rankings and clearly has the mindset to win in Korea on a course where he tied for 4th place in 2009.

Anthony Kim, winner of the Houston Open last month and a very creditable third place behind Phil Mickelson in the Masters two weeks ago, is another player at the top of his game. Thailand’s number one, Thongchai Jaidee is the reigning champion and he comes to Korea to defend his crown in good form. He has achieved four top ten finishes this season, including his tie for 8th place last at the China Open. He will be a sound each way prospect we think and is attractively priced at 18/1.
