The 2010 PGA Grand Slam of Golf will take a rather odd format this year as only two of the season's grand slam winners actually line-up in the two day event. Both Phil Mickelson and Louis Oosthuizen have withrawn from the competition and as a result Ernie Els and David Toms will stand in and complete the line up of four. US Open winner Graeme McDowell and PGA Championship winner Martin Kaymer both play, with the latter the bookmakers favourite with Boylesports going 7/4 that Kaymer adds another trophy to his bulging cabinet.

Martin Kaymer is on a sensational run of golf at the moment, his win in the PGA at Whistling Straits triggered three tournament victories in a row, not including being an integral part of the European winning Ryder Cup team sandwiched inbetween as well. Kaymer was an impressive play-off winner over Bubba Watson on Lake Michigan back in August and seems to have gone from strength to strength since. He followed up that win with an easy win in the KLM Open and more recently a fine display over four days to land the valuable Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The German heads the Race to Dubai and a half decent finish in the end of season Dubai World Championship in November should be enough to land him the title of being European number one. The 7/4 odds on him winning the two round Grand Slam of Golf in Bermuda looks a gift.
US Open champion Graeme McDowell has had the golfing year of his life. The Northern Irishman had already won the Celtic Manor Open before landing the spoils at Pebble Beach and he was the man who won the vital point that split the two teams in the 2010 Ryder Cup earlier this month. Boylesports make McDowell their 3/1 third favourite in the betting this week. McDowell could be excused for not taking this tournament too seriously and at the odds you'd be best advice to give the Northern Irishman a swerve in Bermuda.
Ernie Els steps in for Phil Mickelson this week and the big easy will be well up for what you'd call a 'bounus week' at the Port Royal Golf Course in the West Indies. The Big Easy as he is known was a multiple winner on the PGA Tour earlier this year but has been somewhat quiet this summer. Els won the valuable World Golf Championship back in March, winning the CA Championship and followed that up with a win at the Transistions Championship in Florida. Els has won this title before back in 1997 and this is his third appearance. Boylesports go 5/2 second favourite that Els wins.
David Toms is the outsider of the quartet but at 7/2 the betting is pretty competitive. Toms has been playing on the PGA Tour for over twenty years and has amassed millions from playing the game of golf. 2010 has been a relatively quiet year for the American but he has still racked up over $1.5 million in prize money. Toms best finish of the year was a second place in the Wyndham Champhionship and has only had two top tens this season. Toms has twelve PGA Tour wins to his name and was a major champion when winning the PGA back in 2001.
7/4 Martin Kaymer
5/2 Ernie Els
3/1 Graeme McDowell
7/2 David Toms
