Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy will be hoping he can follow in the footsteps of compatriot Graeme McDowell in winning his first major championship on Sunday, as he tees off three shots behind third round leader Nick Watney at Whistling Straits in the US PGA Championship. When McDowell teed off in his victorious final round at Pebble Beach in the US Open earlier this year he was five shots behind the final round overnight leader Dustin Johnson, who blew up early on that Sunday. American Watney will look to use Johnson's horror show as an example as to what can happen when taking a final round lead into a major championship and he'll be looking to draw inspiration from Louis Oosthuizen's front running heroics at St Andrews last month. Watney is a 6/4 chance with Boylesports to win his first major, with McIlroy 5/2.

Dustin Johnson will have the aforementioned final round of the US Open to draw inspiration from on Sunday, as he sits tied in second place with McIlroy on ten under par. The big hitting American, along with Watney is now almost assured of a Ryder Cup place at Celtic Manor in October, as the top eight automatic places for the American team are decided after Sunday's final round in Wisconsin. Despite Johnson sitting on the same score as McIlroy, he is almost double the odds, as Boylesports are happy to take the American on at 5/1.
There are a group of players one shot further back on -9 going into Sunday's final round. Of this group, German Martin Kaymer is the shortest price at 11/1 to win his first major. Kaymer has contended in both the US and British Open's this season and is practically assured a place in Colin Montgomerie's 2010 Ryder Cup team. Kaymer is joined on nine under par by Australian Jason Day and China's Wen-Chong Liang, who are 25/1 and 33/1 respectively. Day has a win on the PGA Tour this season, but this is unkown territory for both players, Liang shooting a course record 64 on Saturday.
Of the top ten in the betting, there are three former major winners in the field. The shortest price is American Jim Furyk, who finds himself five shots off the lead on eight under par and a 22/1 shot with Boyles. Zach Johnson as a Masters win on his CV and he is a 35/1 cnace on Sunday, also on -8. The third of the trip of former major winners is Steve Elkington, the veteran Aussie who won this event in 1995. The 'Elk', also on eight under par is an 80/1 chance to roll back the years on Sunday night.
Tiger Woods had his second successive level par round of seven under par so remains on three under par, well adrift of the leaders. A course record 64 would lift him to -11 on Sunday but that is unlikely to be the winning score. Boyle Sports go 200/1 about his chances, whilst Phil Mickelson is unquoted as he sits on -1.
