Tiger Woods has leapfrogged Phil Mickelson at the head of the US PGA Champiosnhip Betting after carding a first round total of 71, one under par and three shots back from current clubhouse leaders Francesco Molinari and Bubba Watson who sit on four under par. A large number of the field still have to play out their first round on Friday morning, as the start on Thursday was delayed due to fog. Of those still out on the course are second and third favourites Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson. Els has leapt up the betting as he sits in the joint-lead on -4 with four holes left of his first round to play on Friday. Woods heads the betting with bookmaker Bet365 at 9/1, whilst Els is 10/1 and Mickelson 12/1. Rory McIlroy is best price 14/1 as he sits on -1 with five holes left of his first round to play.

Three Americans share the lead as the action gets underway on Friday. Bubba Watson is in good form currently and a big finish this week might just earn himself a Ryder Cup call up. Watson leads in the clubhouse on -4 and he is now a 25/1 shot in from 125/1. He shares the lead with a couple other Ryder Cup hopefuls, as Americans Matt Kuchar and Nick Watney are both on four under par but yet to complete their first round. Both players are 16/1 shots with Bet365 and with Watney still having seven holes yet to play of his first round, he could get a bit of a lead up. Francesco Molinari is the best placed European on -4 in the clubhouse and the Italian is now a 22/1 shot in from 80/1.
Of the players who got off to a poor start, the likes of Padraig Harrington and Retief Goosen have a lot of work to do in the second round if they are going to be at Whistling Straits for the weekend. Harrington was once again wayward off the tee and slumped to a three over par total of 75 and he has slipped from 20/1 to 90/1 in the betting with Bet365 as a result. Goosen took one shot more than Harrington and is a 200/1 chance.
The English quartet of Paul Casey, Justin Rose, Luke Donald and Ian Poulter all sit on level par on Friday morning, but with very different prices in the betting. Rose is the shortest price of the quartet at 55/1 as he still has eight holes left to play in his first round. Casey and Donald are in the clubhouse and are priced at 70/1 and 80/1 respectively whilst Ian Poulter is the least fancied at 125/1 with Bet 365. Although Poulter isn't in great form currently, the 125/1 looks a huge price given he's safely in the clubhouse sitting tied 47th in the tournament.
