The PGA Tour visits Georgia for the fourth and final time this season as a strong field gathers for the McGladrey Classic at Sea Island. There is still plenty at stake for this third event of the Fall Series and ante-post favourite Webb Simpson looks hugely tempting at odds of 14/1 with Paddy Power.
Many players will be looking to secure their place in the top 125 of the money list to ensure their place on the PGA Tour next season, but Simpson has no such worries and his target will be to actually top the money list.
The top earner gets a five year exemption on the tour and Simpson is currently second, behind Luke Donald, who isn't in action this week. Simpson hasn't been seen since the Tour Championship but his form this season makes him a tough man to back against as he has picked up four top ten finishes in his last five outings, including wins in the Deutsche and Wyndham Championships.
Simpson needs a top 15 finish to edge ahead of Donald and after finishing tied 12th in this tournament last year, we fancy Simpson could justify his tag as the man to beat with the bookmakers.
Matt Kuchar can claim to have come close to matching Simpson's consistency as the 18/1 shot has nine top ten finishes to his name this year. The Georgia local has 18 top 25 finishes from 23 appearances in 2011 and the Barclays runner-up should be in the mix this week.
Rickie Fowler is also priced 18/1 by PaddyPower after the young American picked up his first professional tournament win last week as he took the Kolon Open in South Korea. It will be a huge boost to Fowler as he finally went all the way to win by six shots, although the Sea Island course might not be to his liking.
Elsewhere, David Toms looks to offer good value at odds of 20/1 with PaddyPower.com and he arrives on the back of nine consecutive cuts made. He finished tied tenth at the BMW Championship and tied 16th at the Tour Championship, and with a tied third from this tournament last year we fancy he is worth an each-way punt at least.
There is then a trio of 25/1 punts in the odds, with Zach Johnson hoping his local knowledge will aid his cause after he finished tied 12th last year, while Brandt Snedeker has shown signs of returning to form with a couple of tied thirds and two top 25 finishes in his last four events.
Graeme McDowell has also claimed he has rediscovered his form after finishing tied third in the Dunhill Links - his first top ten finish in a stroke play tournament since March.
Finally, defending champion Heath Slocum is back after picking up his fourth PGA Tour title here last year, although he has missed 12 cuts this term and is a long 66/1 shot to retain the McGladrey Classic trophy.
