Sunderland have done an impressive job of staying in the top flight of football as they consistently achieve mid-table finishes in the Premier League. They have spent a huge amount of money to ensure they remain competitive, with huge sums spent on the likes of Connor Wickham and Asamoah Gym.

O'Neill has done an impressive job wherever he has been but he will need to improve results at the Stadium of Light quickly and move them away from the relegation.
