The last time these two sides met in the Champions League was in the quarter finals of the 2010 Champions League, where Barcelona wound up the 6-4 aggregate winners over two legs. The bookmakers make the Spanish champions odds on to prevail over two legs again this season and bookmaker Boylesports have priced up Barcelona at 3/10 to qualify for the Champions League quarter finals. Arsene Wenger's side are 9/4.

Barcelona remain the favourites to win the Champions League and are unbeaten so far in this year's competition, qualifying for the last sixteen as Group D winners. Arsenal fans will be cursing their luck however as not only did they fail to finish top of a very winnable Group H on paper, but they also threw away top spot in the last couple of matches of the group stages, as Arsene Wenger decided to rest players in their away defeats to Braga and Shakhtar. This decision has come back to haunt them as they now face the toughest of draws in the Champions League last sixteen draw.
