Norwich are certainly proving to be one of the surprise packages of the season so far. They currently sit 8th in the league and have impressed with their determined performances. They have taken ten points form their last five matches and are coming off the back of securing a point against Liverpool in a 1-1 draw at Anfield.
While the Canaries are hot on the heels of Arsenal and Liverpool in the table, their opponents on Saturday are rock bottom after a dreadful run of results. Blackburn have taken just five points form their nine matches and the pressure is on manager Steve Kean to turn things around. They face a tough test when they go Carrow Road at the weekend as Norwich have won their last two there.
The bookmakers don’t fancy Blackburn and Unibet are offering them at 3/1 for the win. With the form the home side have shown they are deserved favourites here and Norwich are evens with Unibet while a draw is 23/10. Paul Lambert will be telling his side not to get carried away with their standing in the league and that there are still a lot of points to secure to make sure they avoid being dragged into a relegation battle further down the road. It happens to so many newly-promoted sides that they start of the season very well but soon drift down the table as the campaign wears on.
Yet it does seem like Norwich are a side who can avoid this and keep themselves competitive for the season. They are an organised, hard-working unit who have belief that they can take something from any game. They showed this when they went Old Trafford and gave Man United a big scare, but they just couldn’t take their chances. Liverpool then found out last Saturday how frustrating it can be when playing them.
On the road Norwich have been good but at home they also look convincing playing in front of their own fans. They have taken six points form their last two games at Carrow Road, a 2-0 defeat of Sunderland and a 3-1 win over Swansea. They will know that it is crucial to pick up points at home in this league and Paul Lambert should be confident his side can get the win this weekend.
Blackburn have played four away from home this season, losing two and drawing two. They were on the end of big defeats at Newcastle and Aston Villa but managed to earn draws at Fulham and QPR. Steve Kean will be hoping his side can take something from Norwich but the home side have showed much better form recently and you would have to back them for the win.
Tip: Back Norwich to win at evens with Unibet.
