Tottenham Hotspur take on Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League group stages at White Hart Lane on Thursday night with the bookmakers making Harry Redknapp's side long odds on favourites to take all three points. Spurs have failed to score in their last three European games at White Hart Lane and with the wholesale changes to personnel plus some extra support in the crowd for Shamrock this could be a match which is a lot closer than the odds suggest. The Shamrock part-timers do have a bit of quality about them and former Spurs midfielder Rohan Ricketts will be keen to put himself in the shop window on Thursday night. You can back Shamrock to win in the handicap betting with a two goal head start and that looks a decent bet at odds of 13/8 with Paddy Power.
Goals could well be at a premium at White Hart Lane and the under 2.5 goals odds of 7/4 also makes some appeal with Paddy Power. The visitors have conceded int he first half of their last five European games so a backing of Spurs' first goal to be in the first half is 1/4.
