Man City v Wolves Betting: Tempting odds for Adam Johnson to score first

Wolves could well be sick of the sight of Manchester City by the end of Saturday as they gear up for their second meeting with the Premier League leaders in the space of four days. City cruised to a 5-2 victory at Molineux in the Carling Cup on Wednesday and are 1/6 on in the betting with Paddy Power at Eastlands this weekend.

Mick McCarthy's struggling side are winless in seven matches, although they did manage to stop a five match losing streak with a barely deserved point against Swansea last weekend. Unsurprisingly they start as huge outsiders at 16/1 on Saturday, with the draw available at 6/1.

Wolves face a rampant Man City attack that has scored thirteen goals in four league home matches this term and they have scored 21 goals in their last five matches in all competitions.

It is a sign of how attacking they are nowadays that over 3.5 goals is 8/11 on. Those odds would have been scarcely believable this time last year but now City can boast a wealth of attacking talent.

In the first scorer betting, Sergio Aguero is available at 3/1 as he continues to take to the English game like a duck to water, while Edin Dzeko has scored two goals in each of his last two games and is priced 3/1, with PaddyPower offering a skinny 11/5 for Dzeko to score two or more on Saturday. Of more value could be Mario Balotelli at 3/1 though as the striker has notched five goals in his last four appearances.

Meanwhile, Adam Johnson could offer interest in the scorer betting markets after he produced a man of the match display against Wolves in the Carling Cup. The English winger grabbed a goal at Molineux to make it three goals in his last four appearances and he could be worth an each-way look to score first at 8/1 with PaddyPower.

Another interesting each-way punt to score is Nenad Milijas as he has now scored three goals in his last three appearances against City following his opener on Wednesday, with PaddyPower.com offering a hugely tempting 25/1 for him to score first at Eastlands.

In the last five meetings between Man City and Wolves there have been three penalties awarded and the odds of a penalty being awarded on Saturday are currently available at 5/4.

The concern for Wolves is the fact that they have conceded in the first half in their last five matches in the league, with the Man City double result priced 1/2 on, while they have kept just nine clean sheets in their last 61 matches in the league.

City have found clean sheets much easier to come by as they have kept ten clean sheets in their last fourteen at home, during a run which has seem them win thirteen and lose none of those fixtures. A City win is very much hot favourite in the betting and the win to nil could be worth backing at 5/6 for a bit more value this weekend.
